"After last Monday’s ‘storm’ the weather calmed down a bit and we were lucky with our ride to Brighton on Sunday (just a short hailstorm and a moderate headwind most of the way there!). Top marks to Jacob Rack for plotting a wonderful, rural route along country lanes for most of the way. There was the added bonus of an extra beast of a hill two-thirds of the way through the ride, which had a few people zig-zagging around the road and panting heavily...Everyone survived the hills, though, and made it to Brighton Pier in good time for well-deserved fish & chips and some reviving tea! There were sighs of relief when we found out we could get the train to St. Pancras, shortening the ride back at the London end!"
